Meet Shelley from Reserve on Kowhai
Shelley (Kiwi) met her husband Ted (Welsh) after he saw her at every pub in the Bay on New Years Day back in 1983, the rest they say is history. But always a story for under the trees with a shandie in hand (Ted’s the resident bartender).
After recently moving home to the Paihia from Australia, Shelley wanted to share her love of design, and all things quirky and her beautiful home town with others. So the Reserve on Kowhai was created.
Shelley works hard to make the B&B ethical, sustainable and plant based. She has selected all Reserve on Kowhai produce and amenities uniquely to support the local farmers, bread makers, brewers and wineries in the area.
Shelley’s parents BJ and Judy live a few doors down and are former B&B owners themselves. They are always around to lend a helping hand. BJ makes the fabulous bread and Judy produces the most amazing food from their collective gardens and all of the fresh produce is for you to enjoy over your breakfast.
Her motto is making life simple – the way it used to be – only with coffee!
