“This place is amazing!! Very comfortable king bed and comfy pillows. Shelley provided us with a plentitude of scrumptious breakfast foods. There was also an egg maker, coffee pod machine and milk frothed- amazing. Beautiful beach to walk along just a couple of minutes walk away. This place is super stylish and a great base to explore the Bay of Islands from. Highly recommended!”

“We both loved staying at the Smokehouse, beautiful design and very comfortable. So much care and thought had clearly gone into making this such a special, quirky place to stay in. The bed and shower in particular were awesome! The outside area would be fantastic for alfresco dining in warmer weather but as we visited in Winter and it was chilly, we were unable to do so. That said, we did stay in a few evenings and curled up on the very comfy day bed watching a good film, with a glass or two of wine! It speaks volumes about the Smokehouse that we actually wanted to spend time there. We can not recommend this highly enough. We would love to come back sometime when we visit NZ again in the future. It was great meeting both Shelley and Ted, who are such lovely people and so helpful and easy to chat to. All in all, wonderful hospitality. The location is great, easy access to so much in the Bay Of Islands and just down the road from the Waitangi Treaty Ground. A fantastic stay. ”

“Exactly what an Airbnb is all about. Everything was better than expected: comfy bed for my wife and me, privacy (you get your own apartment), tons of amenities and treats, comfy chairs, easy location, and all those little details that often get overlooked, like really nice shampoo and conditioner. Exactly what we’re after in an Airbnb. Not a destination in itself, but a great base of operations for exploring Paihia and Russell.”
